3D Glasses to Get Ready for the 3D Revolution

Leave the first response February 8, 2010 / Posted in Bargains

The 3D TV and Movie revolution is upon us! Avatar no doubt will storm The Oscars and break cinematic ground with it’s 3D effect whilst the recent 3D showing of Arsenal v Manchester United paves the way for Sky’s 3D Channel coming later in the year.

You can get ready for the 3D revolution, or start to enjoy it with these glasses, Wii game and doodle kits.

Shown above is 3D Doodle Kit with 3D Glasses - Create 3D Drawings! which is £3.95 from Findmeagift.com and 3D Glasses which is £1.99 from Findmeagift.com.

Shown above is Nintendo Wii Toy Story Mania with 3D Glasses (3+) which is £40 from Freemans and Circular Polarized 3D Glasses which is £6.99 from Play.com.

Shown above is 3D Drawing Pad with 3D Glasses which is £3.95 from Findmeagift.com and 3D Glasses which is £4.99 from Play.com.

However, do note especially when buying the red/blue glasses that not all images or films where there is a 3D effect is created by a red/blue split. This means these glasses won’t work!

Likewise the Circular Polarized 3D Glasses are only suitable for 3D cinema. And if you try walking out of an IMAX with your own pair the cinema ushers may take some persuading that you’ve actually brought your own and not swiped a pair of their glasses.

Still 3D glasses, movies and TV will feature a lot in 2010 and Gadgetsaurus will be highlighting the new gadgets to help you make the most of this revolution.

The Year of the Tiger kicks off on 14th February and what better to celebrate the Chinese New Year than some Flying Lanterns. These are basically large paper lanterns with a wick/tea light inside that once lit causes the lantern to lift off into the night sky.

Shown above is Flying Lanterns 10 pack which is £24.99 from Gadgetshop.com and Flying Lanterns - Ten Pack which is £16.99 from Iwantoneofthose.com.

Shown above is Magical Flying Lantern (10 pack) which is £15.99 from Play.com and Flying Lanterns - 4 pack which is £14.99 from Gadgetshop.com.

Shown above is Sky Glow Flying Lanterns - Set of 4 which is £14.95 from Prezzybox and Flying Lanterns (4pk) which is £14.95 from Gizoo.

Prices vary, but Play.com and Iwantoneofthose.com seem to be the cheapest. You can buy smaller pack sizes by the way so make sure you get good value for money. For example a pack of 10 from Play.com is £1 more than a 4 pack from Prezzybox or Gizoo.

Flying Lanterns have caused some controversy with many people mistaking them for UFOs plus there are concerns about possible fire incidents and potential danger to air traffic. At the moment though they’re available and like all firework related gadgets they should be used responsibly.

Let’s hope everyone has a peaceful Chinese New Year celebration and that Flying Lanterns are still around for next year too.
