Whilst the old Sony eBook was a pretty dull looking piece of kit, the Cool-er eBook has gone all iPod like and is available in a number of colours like Black, Blue, Cool Pink, Hot Pink, Lime, Purple, Red and Silver. It retails at £199.95 and at 1GB is capable of storing 500-800 books. It’s also lighter than other eBooks and comes with a 25% lifetime discount for coolerbooks.com.

At £199.95 it’s a gadget for a book lover who really wants it and is happy to have their book library in this format. It’s ideal for travellers for example, especially given the amount of restrictions budget airlines are now applying in terms of baggage sizes. Instead of taking a dozen books on holiday with you, you can now take the Cool-er eReader! It’ll just cost you a lot more though as be warned that the books aren’t that cheap to buy on coolerbooks.com.
The Cool-er eBook looks nice and it’s possibly made ebook readers look cooler, but cost wise it may well be better to hold on and see if they get cheaper or at least for the price of ebooks to fall.
