Wii Fit Available From April 25th! Get Fit With Wii!

One of the gadgets of 2008 will be the Wii Fit! Forget about the weights under your bed, the cycling machine in the conservatory and the rowing machine in the garage, you can now get fit with your Wii! And it costs a lot less than a year’s gym membership too.

Wii Fit is designed to keep the whole family fit, and is an extension from the successful Wii Sports game.

There are Aerobic Exercises, Muscle Workouts, Yoga and Balance Games that according to Nintendo will “help you and your family to develop bodily balance control ability, burn fat in the body, help tone and condition muscles, as well as help increase aerobic stamina”.

It’s not available in the UK, but is available to pre-order from the likes of Game, Dixons, PC World, Play.com and Amazon. Cost is currently £69.99.

According to recent BBC reports the Wii has been successfully used in schools as a form of virtual PE. Wii Fit is ideal, especially if you’re prefer to keep fit in the comfort of your home, plus you can monitor your BMI and centre of gravity as well as set goals and monitor your progress.

Amongst the activities are Ski Jump, Press-up Challenge, Rhythm Boxing, Rowing Squat, Lunge and classic Yoga poses such as Half Moon, Tree and Crocodile Twist.
