Vuzix iWear - Cybershades for Movies and Games
March 19, 2008
If you like the idea of looking like Jordi from Star Trek Next Generation, or just want the coolest pair of shades around then the range of Vuzix iWear that has just become available at Firebox might be just the thing.
Unless of course you wear glasses - if that’s the case, stop reading right now, and take your £100 or so and go and spend it on something else.
Vuzix iWear is a clever way of watching movies or playing games on a large screen but via a pair of glasses. It’s all apparently very safe and has the added bonus of being 3D enabled too.
There are a number of versions available, but all are iPod (except iPod Touch, iPod Nano 3G and iPhone) compatabile. For gamers the VR920 is the one to go for as it is PC game compatible and also has a built in microphone. Amongst the games that work with the VR920 are World of Warcraft, Second Life, GTR2 Racing Sim and Supreme Commander.
The downside is that these so call cyber-shades aren’t cheap. They start from £99.95 for the basic iPod only set right through to £249.99 for the VR920.
They could catch on as the next must have gadget - unless of course you wear glasses!
